I read your column every week, and this one hit home even more than the others! My life as a Jet fan has grown into one of exponential disappointment. I spent my childhood suffering as a Jet fan and dying inside for my dad, Ray, who sat down on his recliner full of hope each week and ended the day in the same catatonic state of devastation and disbelief. I have since spent almost 20 years watching Gang Green do the same thing to Louis, and now my boys, who are walking down this same dreary path. As much as i try to avoid getting sucked in by the Jets nearly every year, i still can't help myself and think perhaps this year will be different when they pull off some unexpected victories. At least this year they didn;t even wait for the leaves to have fallen off the trees to pull their annual collapse and instead gave us all a dose of reality (or "dose of shut up" as Kris Jenkins better put it after the horrible Miami loss) much earlier in the season.
