Chris White, who has coached at the high school, collegiate or professional level since 1993, has been named special teams coordinator for the UConn football team. White served as the senior quality control director of football research and special projects for the Huskies during the 2017 season.

Huskies In NFL Playoffs Friday, 5 January 2018, 10:16 pm

Four former UConn football players are set to represent the program in the upcoming NFL Playoffs. Anthony Sherman (Kansas City), Shamar Stephen (Minnesota), Nick Williams (Atlanta) and Blidi Wreh-Wilson (Atlanta) begin their journey to Super Bowl LII as the playoffs kick off on Saturday, January 6.

With the conclusion of the 2017 season, the postseason awards started rolling in for the UConn football team on Wednesday. Senior linebacker Junior Joseph received All-Conference honorable mention honors while senior Cole Ormsby landed a spot on the All-New England Division 1 FBS/FCS team.

Missed PAT Ends Comeback Attempt, 22-21 Saturday, 25 November 2017, 9:40 pm

Haden Moore scored on a 4-yard run with 1:28 left to lead Cincinnati to a 22-21 win over Connecticut on Saturday. Cincinnati (4-8, 2-6) got the ball on its own 36-yard line with 3:13 left before driving to break a 15-all tie. Connecticut scored with no time on the clock. David Pindell found Hergy Mayala from 2 yards out for a touchdown. But Connecticut was called for unsportsmanlike conduct and Michael Tarbutt missed the 36-yard conversion attempt. Connecticut quarterback David Pindell scored on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line and Michael Tarbutt kicked three field goals to give the Huskies a 15-7 lead after three quarters.

AJ Dillon rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns, breaking free on a 48-yard run and a 53-yard score on Saturday night to lead Boston College to a 39-16 victory over UConn on the wet and worn-out turf at Fenway Park. Playing most of the game in a heavy rain, with groundskeepers patching the field most every timeout, the Eagles (6-5) qualified for a bowl game for the fourth time in five seasons. UConn (3-8) showed little offense until two late touchdowns cut into a 36-point deficit.

UConn Can’t Overcome Slow Start, Lose 49-24 Saturday, 11 November 2017, 10:06 pm

Otis Anderson rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, McKenzie Milton passed for 311 yards and No. 14 Central Florida pulled away from UConn for a 49-24 victory on Saturday. Anderson had a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and helped the undefeated Knights break it open with a 65-yard touchdown run, making it 35-17 with 14:11 left. The freshman bounced back nicely after he had a costly fumble in the third quarter. ”My teammates told me to keep my head up and go back out and make another play,” Anderson said. ”For me to get back into the game and show I could make another big play is real important.”

Upset Minded Huskies Set For No. 14 UCF Friday, 10 November 2017, 7:00 pm

UConn is in the midst of a two-game slide as it prepares to face UCF on Saturday at noon at Spectrum Stadium. Saturday’s game is being televised live on ESPNU with Mike Couzens on play-by-play and John Congemi on color. The Huskies enter the game with a record of 3-6 overall, 2-4 in the conference. UCF is 8-0, 5-0 and making a run at a New Year’s Six Bowl.
